Quick answers
How many people play pickleball in Hong Kong?
The Pickleball Association of Hong Kong said in January 2026 that the sport had over 10,000 players in the city, and that venue space was its biggest challenge.
When and where is the 2026 Hong Kong Slam pickleball tournament?
The Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam runs from 19 to 25 October 2026 at Kai Tak Arena in Kai Tak Sports Park. Qualifying starts on Monday 19 October and the finals are on Sunday 25 October from 1pm to 6pm.
What weight pickleball paddle should a beginner buy?
Most paddles weigh 7 to 9 ounces, and one buying guide calls 7.6 to 8.4 ounces a safe bet for most players. Lighter paddles are quicker to move; heavier ones add power but can tire your arm and shoulder over a long session.
What is a third-shot drop in pickleball?
It's the serving team's third shot of the rally, hit softly so it drops just over the net into the opponent's non-volley zone (the kitchen). Because it bounces low and short, it's hard to attack, which gives the serving team time to move up to the net.
What is the two-bounce rule in pickleball?
The receiving side must let the serve bounce once before hitting it, and the serving side must then let the return bounce once too. Only after those two bounces can either side volley the ball (hit it before it bounces).
