Hong Kong Slam 2026: Spectator Guide to Asia's Biggest Pickleball Event

The Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam runs from 19 to 25 October 2026 at Kai Tak Arena, and it’s the biggest professional pickleball tournament Asia has hosted: up to US$1.1 million in prize money, 1,500 ranking points and more than 860 professional and amateur players. Tickets are on HK Ticketing, there’s a free fan zone, and the finals are on Sunday 25 October, 1pm to 6pm.

What is the Hong Kong Slam?

It’s the season finale of the PPA Tour Asia, the professional circuit that visited ten stops in seven markets in 2026, from Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo, Singapore and Macao. Hong Kong is the tour’s first event at the “1500” level, its top tier, and the only stop where players can win the tour’s “dragon head” medal.

According to The Standard:

  • the US$1.1 million (HK$8.58 million) purse is the highest in Asian professional pickleball;
  • Kai Tak Arena is being turned into 24 international-standard courts;
  • all player spots filled within two weeks of opening.

The event is supported by the Hong Kong, China Tennis Association, with Hang Seng Bank as title sponsor.

Take the MTR to Kai Tak Station; the arena is a few minutes’ walk away, inside Kai Tak Sports Park near Victoria Harbour. The arena has 10,000 seats and opened in 2025.

Who’s playing?

The headline local name is Wong Hong-kit (Jack Wong), Hong Kong’s top-ranked player. At last year’s inaugural PPA Hong Kong Open, also at Kai Tak, he won the men’s singles title 2–1 and took silver in men’s doubles with South Korea’s Kim Eunggwon. He’s defending that title, having won 5 gold, 5 silver and 13 bronze medals so far this year.

Other players named by the organisers include Tang Nok-yiu (Hong Kong), Len Yang (United States), and Long Yufei and Kong Lingwei (China). As Wong told reporters, winning gold last year “with the support of the home crowd was an unforgettable experience.”

Can I watch online?

Yes. PPA Tour Asia streams live coverage on its YouTube channel, and the tournament page lists local broadcasters by region.

Why does it matter for pickleball in Hong Kong?

After hosting the inaugural Hong Kong Open last year, Hong Kong now hosts the tour’s top-tier season finale. Commissioner for Sports George Tsoi said pickleball’s low barrier to entry makes it well suited to promoting sport for all. If watching the pros makes you want to play, start with the free public courts and a quick read of the rules.
